F-20 Tigershark

Put away your yoke, and dig out your joystick for some fun, fast, jet flying! Here's a freeware package that's hot and sweet! The Northrop F-20 Tigershark.

The Northrop F-20 Tigershark is a Mach 2 class single-seat light fighter designed for export sales in the 1980's. The F-20 combined propulsion, electronics and armament technologies with improvements in reliability to sustain high sortie rates in adverse weather providing a fighter on par with the F-16A.

The F-20 incorporated a combination of advanced technology features. The F-20 could carry more than 8,300 pounds of external armaments and fuel on five pylons. It could carry six Sidewinder missiles on air-to-air missions. For air-to-ground missions, more than 6,800 pounds of armament could be carried. Two internally mounted 20mm guns were standard equipment on the Tigershark.

Animated Pilots who move the aircraft controls based on your inputs!

This is another one that you just have to have if you like the military jets! The exterior detail is fantastic, with an abundance of paints and aircraft variations. The liveries are very detailed as well as the aircraft modeling itself. The 2D cockpit is also very detailed, with the center console holding most of the workable buttons. There is also a very nicely done virtual cockpit. Extremely cool afterburner effects and wing tip vapor trails add quite a bit to the realism of the aircraft. The "mirrors" actually reflect either sky or ground, in a slightly blurry way, in both 2D and VC modes, and is an excellent perk to the cockpit environment! HUD intensity is also adjustable.

This baby is capable of flying straight up without blinking a landing light! It handles great, and can do just about anything you want it to do. Watch your altitude though, for you'll be in the upper realms before you know it! I've been flying mostly GA aircraft lately, but I dug the old trusty Saitek X45 out, dusted it off, and went about putting this aircraft through it's paces! It is a joy to fly! You should definitely find a parking space for this one in your hanger!
